MBA StructureThe timetables for the MBA are designed in a flexible way so that participants are able to commute from other countries and continue with their employment. The courses put an emphasis on the combination and connection of theoretical input and practical work experience.
Participants are expected to apply theory-based knowledge, which is taught in modules, to their practical working day-to-day routine.
Assessments, handed in a few weeks after the taught module, should prove a successful application of the theory to practical working life. The course participant therefore must be in employment.
The course is taught via blended learning, which combines 2 components:
During the assessment preparation participants are able to communicate via a forum that the college will set up for the respective course and via email. Additional course material and organisational matters will also be downloadable from the platform. In order to do research on a level that fulfils the requirements of a Master of Business Administration, course participants will receive access to EBSCO, an Electronic Journal Service.
For the second phase of the MBA the college also assures access to the university internet library.
The course is taught via blended learning, which combines several components:
- Teaching sessions in the classroom in Germany and London
- All aspects of distance learning and self study
- Email and phone communication with tutors and Programme Manager
- Access to online student platform with additional course material and organisational matters
- Subscription to EBSCO, an online academic journal database
- Log in to online library of Liverpool John Moores University (phase two only)
Phase 1: The course is structured over 3-4 weekends in Germany/ London and 1 international week in London.
Phase 2: The course is structured over 5 weekend seminars of which 4 are delivered in different locations in Germany and 1 of them at the ECBM in London. There will also be an additional 1 week intensive course in London.
When do courses start?
Courses usually start in either September/October/ or February/ March.
The difference between the start in September/ October and February/ March is the time factor. If one starts in February/ March, the first phase of the programme is much more condensed.
Overview:
Phase 1 Phase 2
September/ October- July/ August | September- August/ September |
February-July/ August | September-August/September |
If you start October, you obviously have more time to undergo the first phase and might be able to have a small break before the final year starts.
