Jochen Vogler, Relationship Manager of Deutsche Bank Private Wealth Management in New York

Jochen Vogler attended the Business Management Programmes DMS with the ECBM and the MBA with its partner university. His team focuses on holistic wealth advice to individuals from the German-speaking region and on US-based individuals with business interests in that region.

“The ECBM provided me with an excellent starting point into my career by combining job training with academic input. This is common in Germany, so it is not special per se, but the ability to do it in London made it special in a sense of getting international experience early on.

During my time with the ECBM I especially appreciated the low student/ tutor ration, the professional backgrounds of most of the tutors and the hands-on applicability of the tasks. I then went on to the Diploma in Management Studies (DMS) and the MBA. I think these degrees were a decent way to further progress in my academic thought process and structural thinking.

These courses resemble a real-life applicable programme linking academic theory with business issues. The courses helped to facilitate my structured thinking as well as written English skills.

I think the ECBM has a great value-for-money approach to professional development with good connections to British and German employers. It has provided me with the basis for my career and therefore has contributed significantly to getting to my current position.”

Tolga Kirhan, Project Manager Leveraged Finance of BHF-BANK Aktiengesellschaft in Frankfurt

Before joining ECBM, Tolga studied business administration and economics in Essen, Oxford and London. Within 18 months he completed our fast-track route for the DMS and his MBA studies in the London-Paris-Oslo cohort. Since January 2007 Tolga is enrolled at the University of Durham as doctorate student. His research interests lie primarily in Private Equity, Entrepreneurship and Corporate Finance.

“I enjoyed my time at ECBM very much. The combination of both, first class lecturers and a participant mix with students of different backgrounds was unique. The international week in London was also a great experience. From an academic perspective studying at ECBM was one of the best decisions I have ever taken in my life. It opened the door for further MBA and doctorate studies and gave me the opportunity to acquire knowledge in an ambitious and international environment.

The College is a brilliant source for personal and professional development and increases the potential to make a difference. I cannot recommend the ECBM more highly!"

Mike Rodd, Segment Manager of Bürkert Fluid Control Systems, Bürkert Werke GmbH & Co. KG

Mike Rodd graduated successfully on the DMS and also finished the MBA. He took the fast-track route and was able to do both courses within 18 months.

“I will always have good memories of my studies at ECBM. The team has a perfect combination of practical experience and academic knowledge which they willingly combine to broaden the students learning opportunities. The program is challenging but extremely rewarding, it has a wonderful way of making you apply yourself as an individual whilst simultaneously enjoying healthy debates with fellow students. It was valuable time spent and wholly worth it.”

Antje Moor, O2

Antje Moor, who now works for O2, was a student at ECBM from 2001 until 2003. She finished her CMS and DMS courses with straight Distinctions.

When Antje came to the college she had finished an apprenticeship in Germany (‘Bankkauffrau’) and had a good banking background because of her work experience there.

She achieved the CMS (Certificate of Management Studies) and the DMS (Diploma in Management Studies) at the ECBM in London within two years which enabled her to move away from banking and an analytic style to a management style and a marketing role.

The course opened up new opportunities for her career and, in the end, has lead her life into a different direction.
